Well this morning, I finally found out what needed removing in the stlye.css file in the Appearance>Editor in the Blog Admin Panel.

You’ll need to find this code, and remove it. Then update the file and your pictures should no longer have a background! Let me know how it goes in the comments below.

It looked alright at the time, and it surved it purpose quite well. But it had definitely a few weaknesses. It’s compatibility with plugins and widgets was terrible. It wasn’t even compatible with itself! I was constantly running into appearance errors when uploading videos or pictures. Well I’ve finally decided to move on to bigger and better thinks. I’m not so sure about the bigger part, but it’s sure better! I can actually customize the theme without destroying it from the inside out. Not only that, but I don’t feel like I’m staring into a dark and evil web page with a stone background, with a dark and rustic feel to it.

My technique for choosing a new theme worked out extremely well in my opinion. I started by browsing the Wordpress Free Theme Directory and downloading any theme that had any potential. I did this because we all know how well the “preview” works without a few tweaks on your end to mix with your site. Let alone adding your personal widgets and logo. Well I downloaded around 20 themes and threw them all up on my server and went to Admin>Appearance>Themes and started previewing my new themes. I tested out a few but finally decided to go with Js O3 Lite. I was tempted to use the Black Hat Theme, but only for the significance of the name. But unfortunately the overall appeal (or lack thereof) turned me away. I’m not sure how long I will keep it, but I’m sure digging it right now!

It’s got amazing AJAX code, an awesome RSS/Twitter button, and a very basic look to it. Well it actually came with a very lame RSS/Twitter Button:

I’m not going to lie, that bird is fat and ugly. So I decided to go about making my own and grabbed a couple logo’s (looking for logo’s?) and put my own little button together.

Since nothing is perfect, I have had a few little customization’s I’ve had to make that I couldn’t live without on this theme. One of them was getting rid of the homepage character limit per post. It’s an extremely easy fix. You will just need to navigate to the Admin>Appearance>Editor>Main Index Page. Once there, do a search for “the_content_rss” and earase “_rss”. Then proceed and get rid of the “More ;raquo” or whatever it says right below it. Don’t change anything else. You should now be golden!
